Summer Is Near! 🌞

Updated: Jun 30, 2022

The first day of summer is June 21st! Are you looking forward to the longer, hotter days? There’s one doubly special day before the official summer start…

Do you know what today is?

This year it marks Father’s Day as well as Juneteenth.

Father’s Day Fun

If you still haven’t gotten Dad a gift, don’t worry! Here are some ideas to help you brainstorm.

  • A Subscription- Subscriptions are the gifts that keep on giving! Think about what your pop loves and let him enjoy it year-round. Whether he loves learning new things, eating gourmet foods, or drinking craft beer, there’s a subscription for everybody these days!

  • An Experience- Experiential gifts are growing in popularity. People value others taking time to create memories for them. Think about what your dad loves to do and make that happen. Bonus points if you join him!

  • A Sentimental Gift- Personalized gifts can make the toughest father tear up. There are so many options to choose from these days. Personalized calendars, puzzles, and collages are just a few of your many options.

Whatever you decide, the father figures in your life will appreciate any offering of love.

Juneteenth

While we’ll all be celebrating the wonderful men in our lives, we also want to commemorate this important milestone.

June 19,1865 was the day that Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to ensure that all enslaved people were freed. While this still did not happen immediately, it was a pivotal moment on the road to ending the atrocity of slavery.

We can honor this day by:

  • Supporting Black-owned businesses.

  • Learning more about our history.

  • Participating in local Juneteenth events.

"My humanity is bound up in yours, for we can only be human together." ~Desmond Tutu, Human Rights Activist and Theologian

If you need a hand preparing for summer events or travel, we’d love to lift the burden by researching and scheduling activities, taking care of your plants and garden while away and anything else you can think of!
